    The rgpB polyclonal antibody is produced by injecting rabbits with the recombinant Porphyromonas gingivalis Gingipain R2 protein (230-473aa), which serves as the immunogen. The rabbits then produce antibodies against the Porphyromonas gingivalis rgpB antigen. These antibodies are purified from the rabbit serum using protein G purification. The purity is 95%+. The resulting purified rabbit anti-Porphyromonas gingivalis rgpB polyclonal antibody is highly specific to Porphyromonas gingivalis rgpB and has a high affinity for the antigen. This rgpB antibody is suitable for use in ELISA.

    The rgpB protein mainly degrades and modifies host proteins, particularly those involved in the immune response, to facilitate the survival of P. gingivalis within the host. It also plays a role in the regulation of gene expression in P. gingivalis and the induction of tissue destruction and bone resorption associated with periodontitis.
